MAISON&OBJET et Paris

Made it to Paris! When we landed, we quickly stopped by Hotel Monte Cristo Paris to wash up and grab breakfast (which was simple, yet fantastic), and went straight to the fair.

MAISON&OBJET is a major French trade show held bi-annually at the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Center and covers all areas of art and living – decoration, design, furniture, accessories, textiles, fragrances, tableware, etc. It was like nothing I’ve ever gone to before – it was enormous! Even though we spent the entire day there, it flew by as there was just so much ground to cover. The show also has a program called the Designers of the Year and Rising Talents which they select emerging talents every year and celebrates the values of style on an international level. Love initiatives like these.

There was a party that evening to celebrate the Designers of the Year and Rising Talents at Lafayette Anticipations. We also had a tour of the shop in the gallery space, as well as a sneak peek of the new Eataly Paris opening across the street, later this spring!

The next day we woke up extra early for freshly baked goods. I don’t know what it is, but the dairy and dough in France is just different! The flakiness of the croissants and chewiness of the warm baguettes combined with the chill winter air made it all a match made in heaven.
